[FICLET] Everything Will Be All Right [RETURNED-TO-CLUBS!AU1]

Prompt: Rachel, 19, everything will be all right
Song: Already Home- Ha-Ash ft. Brandi Carlile
Summary: In an AU where she goes back to the Clubs, things end happily differently.

A few months in and she realizes she's absolutely miserable.

The Diamonds are all cold sharpness and detatchment, and there's none of that gentle rapport, the in-Suit loyalty the Clubs were so famous for and that she had grown up in. The loneliness she'd felt in the Clubs after her mother's death intensified.

But Papa Caleb had already disowned her, and going back would make her a traitor two times over, and no good Clubs was a traitor even once, so she pushed on-- Two, Four, Five. A year-and-a-half in and that was all she'd managed, disappointing herself, who had expected the loneliness to fade more success than that.

It takes an almost-deadly Challenge to realize why.

Waking up in the Diamonds clinic, she's greeted not by the faces of her Diamond compatriots but the drawn faces of Andrew, Argine and-- yes-- Edgar. The latter smooths her hair gently and tells her in a somewhat-wavering voice to rest, that everything would be all right.

It changes things.

Somehow in the slow process of recovery Andrew, Argine and Edgar all manage to find time to visit at least once a day, often more. By the time she's in full health again she almost forgets that they're in different Suits, they spend so much time together.

So one night when they've managed to sneak out to the park like they used to in their younger years, she gazes up into the night sky with a quiet smile on her face and tells them, "I'm coming home."

And so, one set of transfer papers and a walk to the Clubs Castle later, she comes home to the waiting arms of Edgar, Andrew and Argine and she finds that the loneliness has finally disappeared.
