No Place Like Home [For ofthelions]

Rachel knew what it meant when she took on the role of Head of Defense from Outside Attacks, of course. That she would probably be going off-Deck more than others would, especially as Ace, and there was always that risk that she may never come home. It'd been something she and Edgar had talked over when it was offered to her, and they'd eventually come to the conclusion that the achievement of her lifelong dream was worth the risk. It didn't make leaving easy, but it worked. And she was happy.

She's happier still when she finally is able to return home after one of her longer missions. She gives her King and Queen the shallowest of debriefings before being sent on her way again, and, ignoring Ophelia's advice to go stop by the infirmary to see her various injuries seen to (they're not so bad, really,) she makes her way back to their house between the Clubs and Diamonds' lands.

She's late, after all, and she wants to hold her husband and son in her arms again.
