[FIC] Teach Me How to be Sensible [QUARTET]

Prompt: The Quartet, 22, teach me how to be sensible
Song: You Found Me- The Fray
Summary: Rachel always had her best friends to pull her back into the world again.

The simple fact was, Rachel tended to lock herself into spare rooms and train endlessly when stressed or upset.

"Argine."
"Andrew! What took you so long? You need to talk to her, she's been in there for over an hour and she won't speak to me. Where's Edgar?"
"--here. I'm here. Where is she? Rachel!"
Muffled. "Leave me alone!!"

"No, Ed. Wait. It's my turn to talk to her anyways." Pause, a brisk rap of knuckles on a door. "Rachel, what happ--"
"I said go away, Andrew!"

Beat. The sound of moving bodies. A different voice. "Rach, please, it's time to come out..."

Aside, whispered. "I still don't understand why she does this."
"You mean you don't remember? Aunt Elizabeth used to do stuff like this when she was bothered, too. After she died..."
"Ah."

"...Guys, I think we need to go with Operation Trump Card."
"Oh, Edgar, really? Don't you think we're getting a bit old for that?"
Solemnly. "You're never too old to be tickled into submission, 'gine. I'm going in."

"Careful, Ed. Last time she almost stabbed you."
"You mean you're not coming in to help me? What happened to brothers-in-arms, Drew?"
Mildly. "You'll forgive me if the thought of assisting in getting my cousin to submit to you is a bit disturbing, all things considered."
"...Point. But if I get stabbed, she gets to blame you."
"Then you'd best not get stabbed, dear friend."

A huff, then the sound of someone breaking through a door.
"I thought I told you not to-- Oh no you don't!"
"I gave you plenty of warning, Rach."
"Edgar!!" Laughter.

"...Well, it doesn't sound as though he's being stabbed. You're off the hook."
"Not quite yet. I do believe it's time we partake in Operation Trump Card, don't you?"
"But she's already stopped moping."
"Well. It can never hurt to remind her."
"True."

Footsteps.
"'gine! Drew! Do stop him from-- oh, no. Ed, they've come for us!"
"Oh, I should have known you'd pull this, dear friend. Rach, darling, I think we need to call a truce between ourselves."
"I couldn't agree more."

"Argine, are you with me?"
"Of course, Andrew. You know they won't play fair."
"We won't play fair? Why, I ought to--!"
And so laughter like bells rang through the Clubs Castle.

The simple fact was, Rachel tended to lock herself into spare rooms and train endlessly when stressed or upset.
But the simpler fact was, she always had her three best friends to teach her how to be sensible again.
